MODEL/ACTRIZ is a Brooklyn based post-punk/new-wave/dance/noise outfit headed by vocalist Cole Haden and his almost preacher-like howls that lead the listener into a dance cacophony of pure rapture. This album is difficult to describe. It borders on what is "acceptable" in pop or dance music for the masses, but upon deeper listening, one will find that the musicians in MODEL/ACTRIZ have so much more to offer. It's just noisy enough to scare off those masses, and just enough off-kilter to lure in the lovers of Pitchfork reviews and all other trendy nerdiness. It's no secret that I gush about all new arrivals to the noise-rock scene, and this is no exception. Dogsbody is a perfect clash of LCD Soundsystem's raucous dance rhythms and Chat Pile's bleak and abrasive hopelessness. It's just a damn fine album.
